BEAUTIFUL DAWN - Lake Inle, Myanmar

There are times when taking photos can really take you out of the moment. Neko has been incredibly patient at times, waiting for me to get the right shot. Sometimes though, it’s all about going out to do some photography, and that’s the point. Capturing the moment. The enjoyment is in the hunt and the prize - the joy of something is in doing it right? Today was a great example of that - there have been other days when I want to throw the camera in the water, and Neko wants to choke me.

Something I love about taking photos is that it forces you to really watch, and listen, and understand people or the environment you’re shooting. What I understood today about this gentle, noble, and traditional fishing people, is that they are batshit crazy!! USE A MOTOR!…it’s 2015 people. Folks aren’t generally rowing with their legs anymore!! AAARGH!!

It was so tranquil out there. Gorgeous.

"OK, I got a great idea - who can catch a fish, erm, standing on one leg?"

"This'll be a laugh, what about we row with the other leg? Huh? Huh?"

"Ooh, ooh, and we should use a laughably massive novelty shuttlecock as a net..."

"On your marks..."

Travelling makes you very sensitive and appreciative of diverse cultures...

And dawn drives you mad!
